Every story has to belong to the Moore's own timeline — its specific alternate-2387 divergence. Not a disconnected era of Star Trek canon.

The point of this space is narrative independence — Main Storyline and BTO will never need to resolve or depend on anything that happens here. A story can occasionally brush against the crew or the people who orbit them, but that's optional, not structural.

A character needs a full, fleshed-out bio and real intent to tell at least 5 posts' worth of story before they earn a manifest sheet. A one-off, single-post character stays nameless and in-post — no bio, no manifest entry.

If a throwaway character turns out to have legs and a writer wants to build them into a real arc later, that's when the bio/sheet gets created — not before.

Unlike Main Storyline, there's no Current/Upcoming/Completed — stories here just exist as ongoing entries, with no mission clock or formal pacing structure attached.

A character living on this manifest doesn't mean their story is guaranteed to intersect anything else — and it shouldn't look like it does, visually or structurally.

This is a space for freedom, not a separate jurisdiction. Command reserves the right to ask for revisions, or to remove content outright, if anything here conflicts with established lore, timeline, or the direction of the Moore's own story. Nothing written here can override or reshape what's canon.

The Unknown Frontier exists for writers to dig deeper into a character, follow a thread the main story never will, or lay the groundwork for something bigger down the line. Every story here still has to live inside the Moore's own timeline and universe.

Since stories here can be set anywhere in the Moore's history, the post header's Timeline field should pair the year with a short anchor.

• Wartime posts: use the specific concurrent mission title — e.g. 2388 — Wartime, "Year One: The Point of No Return"
• Other posts: use a month or season — e.g. 2385 — Spring, 2386 — October
• Historically significant dates: use a relative anchor to a named post — e.g. 2381 — 2 years before "Complicated Arrivals" (the post where Cal was first introduced)

Naming the actual mission or post — rather than "current arc" — keeps the tag accurate permanently, even as Main Storyline advances. A post with an incorrectly filled-in Timeline field will not be listed until it's corrected.

The Moore runs on a very specific, tightly maintained timeline of events. If a writer is unsure what year fits, or how a story lines up against established history, the right move is to ask Command before posting — not to guess. A wrong assumption here can ripple through continuity in ways a quick question would have avoided.
